At the Elmwood Park Neighborhood Civic Organization, your privacy is extremely important to us. By browsing our website, you are not providing us with any personally-identifying information; however, our server, like all website servers, does collect certain general information and statistics so that we can work to provide you with the best possible online experience. For example, our server will collect information about:

  • what type of internet browser visitors use to access our website (e.g., Internet Explorer, Safari for iPhone)
  • what pages visitors view and how long a visitors stays on the page
  • whether or not visitors have javascript enabled or Adobe Flash Player installed
  • what pages referred visitors to our website
  • how many pages visitors access in a typical session

When We Collect Personal Information

If you decide to join the EPNCO or contact us through our online contact form, you will be asked to provide us with certain personal information such as your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and more, all of which are sent in plain text over non-encrypted channels. When you submit one of these online forms on our website, our server also records your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address. Your personal information is stored electronically and may only be accessed by authorized personnel over SSL-encrypted channels. We do not disclose your personal information to anyone and will only disclose your personal information pursuant to a court order or as required by law. We use your personal information to periodically send you newsletters, emails, and other communications, or to contact you with important announcements.

From time to time, members ask the EPNCO to address various concerns or to initiate discussions on their behalf with police, elected officials, and other village employees. At such times, the EPNCO may, at your request, act as a proxy on your behalf, in which case your identity and personal information is kept confidential. Your privacy and safety is extremely important to us and we appreciate the trust that members and Elmwood Park residents place in the EPNCO.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

From time to time, we may make changes to this privacy policy. Such changes are generally minor. Should we make a major or material change to our privacy policy, we will notify visitors by posting a link to the updated privacy policy on our home page for at least one week.
